Turna Das talks about her early days in theatre and the usual struggle, both artistic and financial, associated with it. And although she had witnessed a certain change in Bengali theatre, in terms of finances and professionalism, it is far from being enough for somebody to think about working in theatre as means of survival. However, she finds it pointless to ponder over this and instead believes in finding a way out on one’s own. She stresses upon the significance of UGC fellowships and the hard work involved. But if one loves theatre and is willing to fight for survival, both his own as well as Theatre’s, then that is indeed a fitting solution.
