Sudipto abhors self – content attitude in Bengali Theatre

Posted by Kaahon Desk On December 3, 2014

Sudipto Chatterjee feels that theatre performances in Bengal suffer from a terrible dearth of nearly every necessary element. He shares some of his plans, performance, theatre oriented activity and otherwise to make it right. The major problem, according to him, is the sense of narrow point of view and easy contentment that simply don’t allow the people to put in the necessary effort. There is a too much of dependence on words than the body of an actor. The basic discipline, insight and hard work in the direction of improving one’s body and soul and the overall status of theatre in general are really absent here. For theatre to be taken seriously in Bengal, it is must to be practiced with the basic sincerity in the first place!
