Probir Guha – A have-not’s life, active politics to Theatre

Posted by Kaahon Desk On July 21, 2014

Probir Guha started off as a student activist under the undivided ‘Communist Party of India’. After the Naxalbari movement he came under the influence of CPIML, but soon got disillusioned with the extremist party ideology.  On quitting the party, his political consciousness urged him to find an avenue of expression. Since he had already done street plays on the party platform, hegravitated naturally towards theatre as a medium of expression. All his memories from childhood being brought up in a have-not ploletariate livelihood have motivated him to get into non-urban alternative theatre.
