Lukasz Chotkowski considers the theatre stage to be a space of spontaneous improvisation where the actors and the audience are able to connect through honest emotions. Thus even if he is working with adaptations, the thrust is on improvisations, making the text relevant, pertinent and opening an almost direct path to the unconscious which he believes to be universal in nature. Furthermore improvisations often make room for characters to be built up and developed and explored beyond the limits of the text. Lukasz feels that theatre, more than a practice, should be more like embarking upon a journey without a set destination.
