Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri affirms music as his religion

Posted by Kaahon Desk On July 29, 2015

Classical music artist Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri is seemingly obsessed with the idea of roots and origins when it comes to music. He feels proud about Indian Classical Music primarily owing to its roots found in the Vedas. He cites that in comparison to that Western Classical Music is almost infantile! He rather stresses upon the strong influence of Gospel or Church Music and thus hints towards a synergy or harmony between music and religion and even goes on to state that music itself is his religion. Although he declares that he doesn’t discriminate between the various forms of music, he maintains strong likes and dislikes for himself.
