For classical music artist Sanjay Chakraborty, music has an exclusive definition pertaining only to the manner of his own learning and understanding, which has major spiritual overtones. However he has strong opinions against Americans and their culture. He clubs everything under an umbrella of “American Culture” and considers them responsible for the destruction of what he calls culture. He also cites Rabindranath Tagore’s writing in favor of his argument. He presents a highly original analogy, considering music to be fluid, but he himself is not ready to accept anything other than the form familiar to him. Teaching younger students of his own, he adapts methods which are quite unconventional and abstract. Emphasizing on the supreme significance on the idea of tempo, his training of melody and rhythm are often exercises that dwell on the imaginations of students, an attempt to connect with music in an organic manner.
