Non-fiction films are considered as second grade cinema

Supriyo Sen believes that Non-fiction films are considered as second grade cinema all over the world. But the situation is more alarming in India, owing to a lack of proper exhibition and distribution system. There is a glaring lack of awareness and no one even understands the difference between documentary and non-fiction films. Often, directors of fiction films end up engaging in non-fiction projects and the practice seems to be endorsed by authorities or the State or Government.
