To mark this historical step the repertoire artists are being trained in different fields of theatre and are remunerated for their work. The repertoire’s main objective is to uphold and spread the culture of Tagore and other indigenous cultures related to theatre across the country. The young artists are being prepared to step into the professional world of theatre and act alongside eminent theatre personalities from the field. After almost 20 years of continuous effort, on October 2014 the university finally established a repertoire of its own with special support from Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury. Other names that are worthy of mention are former Registrar Dr. Bhaskar Sengupta and Finance Officer Shri Debdutta Ray. With Professor Subhabrata Sinha Ray as secretary of the repertoire and Professor Soumitra Basu and Professor Pijush Chakraborty as the advising and chief executive member along with the co-operation and guidance of eminent theatre personalities such as Sri Bivas Chakraborty, Ashok Mukhopadhyay and many more, Rabindra Bharati Theatre Repertoire sets its goal to culminate this theatre practice as a trend setting genre.
