While Aditya Vikram Sengupta agrees that actors were important for his film, but not their acting per se; mere suggesting as opposed to expressing and revealing, often leaves room for interesting interpretations. During the course of making his film, he didn’t really discuss a lot with the actors. There used to be minimum instructions and lot of retakes, the latter serving various purposes. Mainly, it brought out the detached tiredness needed in the characters.
Jonaki Bhattacharya, the producer of the film, owing to her lack of experience in film production, handled the logistics in her own way even though they were not always the conventional ways of doing things. Keeping mind that it was a production with limited budget and crew, she successfully maintained both clarity and good PR that boosted the teamwork. Even though finance was always a problem, she refused to let it take the priority. The aim was to complete the film without aesthetic compromise and she had managed to achieve it. It certainly helped when certain key personnel were multitasking!
